Science Lesson: Hungry soon after lunch?

Traditional schools tend to focus only on major food groups (carbohydrates, proteins, fats, etc) when talking about food. While that vocabulary is useful in many situations, there are many more ways in which we speak about food in the real world.

Terms like glycemic index, keto diet, gluten free, low cholesterol, etc. are all too common, and often poorly understood by students and families. This lesson, one of the many in this theme of food, connects the science of food to our everyday vocabulary, helping children make healthier food choices.

Children can experience this, and many other lessons, in Tuva OIS Summer School.
